jihad? what jihad? October 2, 2007
The Discount Zone near my house is run by a bunch of guys who are from Egypt. A couple of weeks ago, I stopped in there and I didn’t receive my usual prompt, flirtatious service because three of them were behind the counter having some sort of serious conversation in Arabic. After a minute or two, one of them looked over and noticed me. I don’t know what got into me, but I said, “Dirka! Dirka! Mohammed Jihad!” They all laughed at the silliness, and one of them had seen “Team America, World Police,” so he thought it was hilarious and explained to the others. More hilarity. Now, every time I go in there, one of them says, “Hey, Baby! Dirka! Dirka! Mohammed Jihad!”
